RECYCLED POLYESTER
There are many benefits to using recycled polyester compared to conventional polyester (virgin polyester): The production of re-cycled polyester uses 90% less water and requires 70% less energy than conventional polyester fibre production.
Moreover, the production of recycled polyester creates 75% less CO2 emissions than virgin polyester, and as recycled polyester is made from recycled material it means that less polyester material is being dumped in landfill.
In addition, the use of more recycled polyester will reduce our dependence on petroleum as raw material. Diverting PET waste for recycled polyester production reduces landfill, and thereby reduces soil contamination as well as air and water pollution.
The fabric can be continuously recycled without quality degradation. Finally, recycled polyester doesn’t absorb moisture, which reduces the need for tumble drying after washing.
